| Neighbourhood Watch |
London Colney Neighbourhood Watch has really arrived in our village.
Now is the time for YOU to be a part of it. Residents in our village who have a NhW street sign in their road or door stickers believe themselves to be a member of the scheme. A true member is registered on the Online Watch Link (OWL). OWL is only a communication tool set up to let us know what is happening in our village and surrounding areas. It is a very safe website which has been tested. No other person (other than the WLO & co-ordinator) can see your information. If you wish to join our NhW scheme please log on to www.owl.co.uk or if you do not have Internet access please phone the Watch Liaison Officer (WLO) on 01727 796087. You will be asked for your name and address and contact details only. Once joining you will receive an information pack and OWL message giving you a username and password via email. For members who have no Internet access, do not worry the WLO would have registered your home phone number to receive the OWL messages and you will also receive an NhW pack. You can also check for past messages, you will see whom your Street Co-ordinator and Area/Ward Co-ordinators are. Your details can be changed or you can update your information adding your partner etc. OWL sends messages via email, fax or telephone (landline). OWL also sends text messages on your mobile; this is only done in emergencies i.e. missing children or vulnerable members of the public. We were informed a couple of summers ago that, by Stanborough Lakes a young child went missing and the parents were frantic about their lost child. OWL was used, asking members (in the appropriate area) to join the police to look for this child. The child was found safe and well. Just think, if this was your child, grandchild, nephew or niece you would also want the help from the public to find them safe. JOIN US TODAY. Sign in on OWL or pick up the telephone and call the above number. The Neighbourhood Watch scheme is a voluntary organisation run by the members/residents NOT THE POLICE. A strong watch has other benefits for everybody, including fostering a strong community spirit where neighbours look out for each other.
London Colney Neighbourhood Watch Association would like to thank...
Watch Liaison Officer Ken Lane, St. Bernadettes School, London Colney Parish Council and Langleys Estate Agents for their help over the last twelve months.
Also, our Area Ward/Street Co-ordinators and Helpers for their hard work and dedication throughout the year.
