COLOUR, POMP AND MUSIC RETURN TO STANBOROUGH PARK
Stanbourough Park in Welwyn Garden City will, once again, come alive with colour and the sound of music when it plays host to the popular Kaleidoscope Festival. The festival, organised by Welwyn Hatfield Ethnic Minority (WHEM) Group, offers an opportunity for local people to come together and celebrate the areaıs rich cultural diversity. This yearıs celebrations take place on Saturday, 19th July.
Now in its sixth consecutive year, Kaleidoscope Festival has established itself as the premier summer event in Welwyn Hatfield and the surrounding areas. Planned attractions at this yearıs event include art and craft stalls, information stands, children attractions, dance and live music stages as well as a wide variety of food from around the world. The theme for this yearıs festival is ³Shared neighbourhoods, shared values², recognising the increasing need of people from diverse backgrounds to share common neighbourhoods and values.
Eliud Matindi, the festivalıs coordinator said:
'WHEM Group is, once again, delighted to be hosting Kaleidoscope Festival for the sixth year running. We consider it a remarkable success the festival continues to grow from strength to strength, not least because it is organised entirely by volunteers. We are immensely grateful to all our sponsors, exhibitors and volunteers. Without their help and support, we would be unable to run what is, by far, the biggest and most successful community event of its kind for the people of Welwyn Hatfield and the surrounding areas. We are, once again, looking forward to welcoming all members of our community to come together and enjoy themselves. '
The event, open to the public from 12:00 pm 6:00pm, is free to enter, with car park charges reduced to 60p.
