Dirty Dozen Fight for Glory
Twelve students from the St. Albans and London Colney L.T.S.I. Tae Kwon Do schools traveled to Derby on 6th April to take part in the I.T.F. Midland Opens. Fighters from all over the U.K. were in attendance, including various top I.T.F. England members and two current World Champions. Everyone had to set off from St. Albans at 6.30am and did not return home until 9.30pm, so it was a very long day! Chris Snow, 5th Degree Instructor of the schools, said ³The gang did a fantastic job as contact levels were extreme in some cases, mainly due to the caliber of the competitors in attendance at the event however, the troops were more than ready to Œdo battle¹ as, two weeks earlier, they had won 5 gold, 4 silver and 2 bronze medals between them at another competition.²
The winners were as follows:
C. Jordan Gold in Colour Belts sparring
S. Townshend Silver in Black Belts sparring
A. Smith Silver in Black Belts sparring
J. Doran Silver in Colour Belts sparring
J. Adams Silver in Colour Belts sparring
A. Chapman Silver in women Black Belts sparring
A. Chapman Bronze in Black Belts patterns
A. Aliousalah Bronze in Black Belt sparring
E. Moulster Bronze in Black Belt sparring
B. Domah Bronze in Colour Belt sparring
