The dog show was once again a great attraction, with even more participants than before. Last year we were worried to hear that the heat might cause fatalities, this year we thought we might have to supply hair dryers! But the sun came out, the dogs wagged their tails and their owners smiled.
This year we had an even greater range of sizes from the miniature to the pair of giant Bloodhounds.
We were delighted with the number of children who came along proud to show off their pets, and the standard of handling by some of the young people is astounding. Mention must be made of the very small entrant who "borrowed" a bouncy Staffordshire in order to take part!
A very big thankyou goes to Liz Jakeman the dog warden who lives in London Colney. She is on hand to oversee the smooth running of the event and is always ready to give advice on all aspects of dog care and training, her presence gives a professional touch to the proceedings. At the end we were approached by a group of ladies who offered to come next year to give a demonstration of Line Dancing with their dogs. We look forward to that!
